Abigail Whistler as played by Jessica Biel in the movie Blade – Honorary Oakley

Abigail is Whistler’s daughter in the Blade Trilogy films. Here actress Jessica Biel explains what it is that makes Abi Whistler such a good female character:

“She’s really mentally strong and kind of a closed-off person because she’s had all this death in her family because of the vampires. I think she feels the need to [pursue] a lot of vengeance for her family. She’s more of a stoic character-but incredibly smart and incredibly able, trained and deadly with her weapons. But she just does her job and moves along. She doesn’t take it all in though; she just lets it all roll off of her. There are some vulnerable moments for her, but she’s very stoic”.

Mentally strong and kick ass… sounds perfect for the Honorary Oakley. But there’s more to this character than meets the eye and the release of Blade Trinity should highlight that. Let’s hope the film lives up to the hype!

Background: Jessica Biel was a teen model before becoming a TV star as Mary Camden on WB’s family drama 7th Heaven in 1996. She also appeared in the 1997 feature film Ulee’s Gold (starring Peter Fonda). In 1999 the tall brunette was named one of PEOPLE magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People.”

Jessica Biel said playing vampire-hunter Abigail Whistler in Blade Trinity involved intense training.

“Two months of weightlifting and martial arts training and just keeping it up every day,” Biel told Access Hollywood. She plays the daughter of Blade’s friend murdered in the first film.

“She has an interesting connection with this whole vampire world,” Biel said. “Her entire family, with the exception of the father, has been killed by the vampires.” (Actually, Whistler was killed by vampires, Jessica).
